When we removed the stucco, we discovered significant damage beneath the windows and identified missing kick out diverters to the structural framing. We diligently addressed these issues by reinstalling improperly installed windows, repairing structural framing, and replacing wet and damaged insulation. In areas with mold, we meticulously remediated it by scraping, treating, and sealing it with mold-preventing paint.

This particular project revealed damage that had gone undetected for years, causing extensive issues with the home’s structural integrity. Unfortunately, these issues did not show up on the home inspection or the stucco moisture report due to the use of foam sheathing instead of plywood. This serves as a valuable reminder of the importance of choosing an experienced and knowledgeable contractor.
While not required, we recommended replacing the foam board with new plywood sheathing to ensure long-lasting durability. Despite adding a week to the project timeline, we firmly believed that addressing these underlying issues was vital to prevent any future problems.
